The Organisation Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries. The Opportunity Against a backdrop of external change, Plan International is working to transform how we operate, in order to deliver a bold new strategy. This includes modernising our operating model, business processes, systems and the way we work through a portfolio of global change projects ahead of the implementation of a new strategy, starting in 2017. One of the key projects critical to the future of Plan’s Strategy is the realization of Cost Savings across multiple categories of spend. This exciting new position with Plan International will lead and drive this complex, strategic project from start to finish, and ensure that more than €20m savings are delivered successfully. These savings will enable us to redirect those essential resources into achieving more for children’s rights and equality for girls in our countries. This is a new role and a new project, and the chance for the right candidate to shape it and make it their own. This multi-year, multi-million, strategic level project is a unique opportunity to help a large INGO do more with our money and re-engineer how we spend. The successful candidate will be able to see the project through from start up, through successful delivery and closure, and bring their strong project management experience to an exciting new venture. The Individual The successful candidate will have significant Project Management experience, ideally in large scale, complex/strategic projects with financial savings targets. Excellent leadership skills will be imperative as you recruit, manage and develop teams as you plan, prioritise and deliver on budget and to time. Projects will involve multiple, senior stakeholders and you will be responsible for ensuring high level engagement and endorsement, whilst managing expectations and maintaining project momentum. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to clearly articulate messages in a way that can be understood by a variety of audiences will be key to the success of this role. Flexible and resilient, you will adapt to ambiguous situations, maintaining progress towards our ambitious vision and goals. Location: International Headquarters in Woking, Surrey (approximately 25 minutes from London Waterloo) Some travel may be required. Salary: £50-60000 per annum Closing date: Friday 18th August
