IT Category Manager Staines £50,000 - £60,000 car allowance excellent competitive benefits Procurement | Category | P2P | Finance | Outsource A leading financial organisation based in Staines is currently recruiting for an IT Category manager to play a lead role within procurement by developing, agreeing and delivering a Category Strategy for the IT Services Category. This is a crucial strategic hire which will influence and maintain accountability for all IT Services expenditure. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: To lead key procurement activities (such as formation of Preferred Supplier Lists and schedule of Supplier Business Reviews) across the IT Category. Support the Head of Procurement in implementing procurement policy & procedures that deliver tangible value to the business ensuring consistency with policies, processes and procedures Deliver tangible value which enhances Group Profit (PBT) To act as a trusted business partner influencing at all levels across the organisation Ensure that supplier contracts and renewals are negotiated in a timely manner to achieve maximum value Undertake regular periodic reviews of the IT Category preferred supplier list to ensure it is aligned with IT Business Strategy Review existing supplier agreements to consistently re-negotiate or tender as appropriate To lead change and to champion the value of Purchase-to-Pay best practice To identify potential outsourcing opportunities to Senior Management and to implement as appropriate. To provide procurement guidance and support in compliance with other policies and initiatives such as Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Payment Card Industry (PCI). Optimise value for the IT Category, taking into account that value is the summation of price, total cost of ownership; service quality; delivery performance; quality of support; initiative and innovation; thought leadership; transparency; and collaboration. SPECIFICATION Ideally a minimum of 15 years procurement experience of which five years focused on IT and / or outsourcing Demonstrable evidence of successfully influencing and managing both internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate the ability to deliver cost savings and added value from using procurement and supplier management best practices Demonstrate experience of owning and leading complex sourcing activities from initial planning through to tendering, negotiating, contracting, and delivery To be able to deputise for the Head of Corporate Procurement as required both in meetings and generally (for example in managing the Procurement team's resources) Sound knowledge of current P2P (Purchase-to-Pay and Procure-to-Pay) best practices Experience in managing outsourcing partners within any spend category, or running competitive tender exercises or negotiation for choosing an outsourcing partner would be advantageous.
