They are a forward thinking, innovative company that is highly regarded for their efficiency and customer service. An opportunity has arisen within the Company’s Engineering Department for an Engineering Operative within their Repair and Maintenance team. The role will mainly involve working throughout the Company’s area of supply, assisting with the laying and repair of various sizes of service pipes, mains and apparatus in the network. This will mean you will assist with daily routine checks, maintenance and maintain safe working practices to the highest standard of safety and quality on site. You will assist with loading / unloading, backfilling and reinstating excavations and the laying out of signing, lighting and guarding on site. The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working for a utility company or in a similar construction environment (although not essential) and will have a flexible attitude to work, along with a willingness to learn. A current Water Hygiene card, Streetworks qualification, and/or full LGV Driving Licence would an advantage but again not essential. Due to the nature of the role candidates must hold a valid Class A driving licence and as this position involves hard manual work applicants should have a good level of physical fitness.
