Asset and Configuration manager is being sought by a leading Surrey based company. The role needs a strong Asset & Configuration manager coupled with strong commercial experience of procurement & supplier engagement/contract negotiation: Purpose To oversee the Asset and Configuration function within IT Governance, responsible for:- Managing all purchasing and financial management processes and policies for IT hardware, software and services Managing all data within the hardware and software Asset Register, ensuring it is accurate, current and to a required level of detail Establishing and evolving a CMDB Supporting third party onboarding and subsequent ongoing relationships. Ensuring IT contracts adhere to IT policies and are appropriately reviewed and recorded, providing recommendations to assist decision making Ensuring legal compliance and optimum utilisation and return on investment across the IT infrastructure Role Accountabilities Line and task manage the IT Team Assistants, adhering to defined performance management standards Manage the procurement of IT hardware, software and services, including the raising of purchase orders, tracking/reconciliation of invoice payments and accruals and maintenance of a preferred suppliers list Create and maintain the annual non-staff and staff budgets. Comprehensively track and report expenditure against these budgets throughout the financial year, providing regular forecasts Operate the Software Request and Third Party Onboarding processes Build and maintain effective relationships with 3rd party suppliers, vendors, resellers and service providers, managing all commercial aspects Facilitate and engage in contractual negotiations, make recommendations and advise on existing and (potential) future liabilities Own the Asset Management process, ensuring adherence and accuracy of information recorded Establish a CMDB and continually improve it to support the evolving requirements of other functions Ensure compliance to software licensing terms and conditions Oversee all contract, license and certificate renewals in a timely manner Oversee general IT administration duties and the specific tasks involved (e.g. overtime recording, expense claims etc.) Produce MI as required to support business decisions Qualifications Ideally have a degree or professional equivalent Would benefit from a procurement qualification such as CIPS Skills and Knowledge Influencing and negotiation skills; Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills; Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner; Understanding of the products and services provided by the Group Understanding of commercial business processes within an IT environment; Knowledge of FAST rules and procedures Excellent understanding of generic software licensing models, terms of use and legal implications TLP Consultancy Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
