Cambourne Village College:
Cambourne Village College, a new, over-subscribed, Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ secondary school eight miles from Cambridge, opened as an academy of the Cam Academy Trust in September 2013. As our first cohort of pupils reaches Year 11 in September 2017, we are seeking to appoint a number of teaching assistants to continue to build our team.
TEACHING ASSISTANTS Level 1-2 (to start 1 September 2017)
Cambourne Village College is seeking to recruit teaching assistants to work in the Centre, a teaching space at the heart of the school. We support students with a range of Special Educational Needs and implement a variety of different support methods and programmes.
The role involves supporting teaching staff within a classroom setting, sometimes working with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups under the direction of subject specialists. The ability to offer support in Science or Computer Science would be advantageous but not essential.
Applicants should have the following attributes:
- excellent communication skills
- a commitment to improving outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- the ability to contribute to the work of the SEND department
- a commitment to contributing to the success of the whole College
Salary: TA scale: Level 1-2, Point 11-17 (£15,807- £17,772 full time equivalent for 52 wks) actual pay calculated on 44.28 weeks.
Hours of work: 25 - 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus 5 training days, 39 weeks per annum. Flexible working hours around the core hours of 9-3pm.
Contract: 1 year fixed term.
